Country Connections Success Stories

We regularly receive letters from satisfied subscribers telling what Country Connections means to them. The following letters are a sample of the hundreds of letters we have received. Because we never reveal a subscriber’s name or address, we are only printing first names, but the actual letters are in our files. In some instances we have condensed a letter to fit the space available here.

Dear Ann,
I would also like to thank you and your co-workers at County Connections for the great service you are doing in helping people make new friends. Many of us would never have had the opportunity to make these friends were it not for the outstanding work you are doing.
Donald, Wisconsin

Dear Ann,
Wow, I’ve just finished my first month as a Country Connections’ subscriber, I can’t believe I have 11 more to go. If a person doesn’t make a connection, it must be their fault. I’m behind on my letter writing but I intend to answer everyone I receive. I made my first contact the very same day the newsletter with my profile was delivered. Earlier that day I had met a lady at a statewide conference associated with my work. After the conference, she went home that evening to find the latest issue of Country Connections in her mailbox. Reading through the issue, she discovered my picture, realized we were both single and called me that evening. We met midway between our homes the next day for lunch and talked until 10 p.m. This is really fun.
Richard, Nebraska

Dear Ann,
I’m so glad I subscribed to Country Connections. I’ve only been a subscriber for two months but I have gotten more than 50 letters and have met some wonderful new friends..
Jenny, Nebraska

Dear Country Connections:
I just want to say “Thank-you and keep up the good work.” Harold and I met through your great publication last March. After several trips between Colorado and Nebraska, lots of telephone calls and high phone bills we were married in August. Thanks again and tell the other subscribers to keep on writing and answering those letters. There really is somebody out there. Harold and Peg

Dear Country Connections:
I would like for you to take my name off the Country Connections’ list. I have met and married a very special lady. We both want to thank you ever so much for the wonderful organization. It has been real fun and real serious. We thank you for everything.
Ronald, Indiana,  and Anne, Colorado

Dear Friends:
The publicity you have been receiving prompts me to write. I do not know if you were aware or not of the fact that after my wife passed away, I contacted your publication. A lady from Holdrege wrote to me, we met and found we had a lot in common. The enclosed clipping from the Good Samaritan Village newsletter pretty well tells what subscribing to Country Connections resulted in for us. Thought you’d like to hear about a successful relationship generated by Country Connections.
Thanks!
Jerry, Nebraska

Dear Ann,
I am pleased to inform you that thanks to Country Connections, Michael and I are getting married. I subscribed in January and Michael joined the following April. He responded to my letter and we decided to set up a date. Needless to say, we hit it off right from the start and have been going strong ever since. Our distance from each other was 75 miles. It could have been more, but still it has been a sacrifice to keep things going across the miles. Finally a change of jobs has brought us close enough to reach our goal of marriage. We both want to express our thanks to you and your organization. We think Country Connections is a great vehicle for agricultural-minded people to meet one another. We both come from small town areas where it is difficult to meet people. Country Connections helped to overcome that problem. When I first requested information, you stated in your opening letter that the $50 subscription fee could be an investment that could change your life. You were right.
Thanks for both of us.
Renetta and Michael, Iowa

Dear Country Connections:
It is our pleasure to inform each of you that we were united in marriage on Feb. 1. We met Nov. 1 and were engaged on Dec. 1. Country Connections is a great avenue to meet the person of your dreams and hopes. Please tell your subscribers that there is someone out there to melt their ice cream. Bill and Barb Dear Ann, I am a former subscriber to Country Connections. Country Connections is the best way I know to meet single rural people. To this day I still get letters from friends I have met through Country Connections. It’s always exciting to me to get letters in the mail. Thank-you for having the connections in the country.
Steven

Dear Country Connections,
Just a short note to ask you to cancel my subscription. Through your newsletter, I met my husband to be. His name is Kevin. We started writing to each other in April. In June we decided to meet. From then on our relationship just blossomed. On Thanksgiving he proposed. Our wedding is this August. Kevin is everything I was looking for. Kind, gentle, loving with a sense of humor. I know without the newsletter we would never have met. I live by Chicago, he lives by Sioux City, Iowa. I am thanking you for helping to make my life fuller, happier and my dream of marrying a farmer become reality. Your newsletter is an excellent way for country people to meet. I know I shall tell anyone who is looking for a farmer or rancher to subscribe with you.
Ruth

Dear Country Connections:
I just thought I would drop you a note to let you know that I had heard Country Connections mentioned on the Paul Harvey show. I have made several new friends and find it refreshing to know that there are some really nice men who believe in good old-fashioned manners and life in general. I have only run into one bad person so far and, thankfully, I never gave him my address. Thank-you for this wonderful publication. It has put my faith back to believe there are really good people out there.
Becky, Kansas

Hi!
I just want to say thank-you for having this type of publication. It really feels great to get all the letters in the mail, although you always have your own circle of friends, it is fun to hear that someone wants to meet you. Louise Gentlemen, Just a note to explain I met a wonderful man through your newsletter. We plan to marry in the fall. Without your newsletter we never would have met. Larry lives about 150 miles from here. I was somewhat skeptical when I first subscribed, but can honestly tell anyone who is interested, this is the finest singles’ newsletter on the market. All the men I met were sincere and had many of the same values and interests that I have.
Mavis, Minnesota

Dear Ann,
It is is our pleasure to inform you of another success story as a result of Country Connections. Jim and I (Kay) started writing to one another in July of this year. We hit it off right from the start. After many, many long distance phone calls, letters, cards, packages, stamps, airline tickets, plans and dreams we fell in love and decided the logical and lucrative thing to do was get married. I relocated from Indiana to Wyoming and we couldn’t be happier. We are living testament to others that there is someone for everyone in this world. Patience and perseverance is the key to finding them. Don’t give up. Thanks so much for being available to us as well as others.
Jim and Kay

Country Connections,
Thanks for bringing us together. We are very happy and planning our future. Please send a copy of the newsletter listing our inactive status so we may include it in our scrapbooks. We feel it only appropriate to show the beginning of our relationship and the follow through.
Chet, Colorado, and Marcia, Nebraska

Dear Ann,
It’s been an incredible two months since we last talked with you. At that time we asked you take our names off active status. Now we want to report Amber is moving to Montana so we can start our lives together. Our love for each other has grown by leaps and bounds, even though we live 600 miles apart. We are so suited for each other. We are talking marriage in great detail. My life has been brightened 100 times since Amber came into my life. I owe it all to Country Connections. In the beginning I only thought that your publication worked for some people and that I would never find the one woman that I’d want to spend the rest of my life with. Well believe me, it works and now I’m happier than I’ve ever been. Your publication is wonderful. Amber and I are living testimony to this.
Allen

Both of us are country people and thrilled to fine another that views country and life alike. Tell everyone to not give up. It takes time to meet the right person but it is well worth it. Thanks for your part in getting us together.
Linda and Jim

Dear Ann,
Please put me on your inactive list. I’ve just become engaged with a nice gal from Kentucky. Please remind your subscribers that it takes very neat letters and a picture is a must.
Jack

I have met my bride-to-be. We will be married in a couple of months. Keep us the good work. I have met some nice people.

Dear Country Publishers,
I would like to thank you for your services. I think what you are doing is fantastic. The first girl to write me is so great, we are talking future plans. Now I have to turn the other girls who write down. Please put me on the inactive list.
Mike
